Master Bilal Amin

Martial arts are more than just a set of self-defense tactics. They are journeys of self-discovery that awaken and revitalize our minds, bodies and spirits.

Master Bilal Amin’s journey began at age 17, in 1973, with Ed Parker Kenpo and Buck Sam Kong’s Gung Fu, followed by Arthur Sikes' North American Self Defense Association.

Amin won his second amateur kickboxing bout in 1976, but turned down a chance to go pro. Although he has won honors such as the grand champion trophy for the 2004 Martial Arts Master II, his career has focused on studying and teaching, and not competition.

Throughout his career, Master Amin has used his martial arts knowledge and skills to help others build self-esteem through discipline, patience and humility. He has been awarded numerous honors for mentoring and changing the lives of Las Vegas' at-risk youth.

As a lifelong student as well as teacher, Master Amin has learned forms ranging from the deadly Indonesian Chinese Kungtao Systems to Tai Chi Chuan, which promotes health and longevity.

He continues to learn about, and teach, Southern Gung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan.
